Celebrating its’ 15th anniversary, Medical Skin Therapeutics’ (MST), origins were modest. Paulina Collins, an intensive care nurse for 20+ years, wanted a career change to leverage her medical background, while providing exceptional, personalized patient care.
“I understood that aesthetic skin care had the potential to create enormous self-confidence in my clients,” said Collins. With the direction of Dr. Warren Ross, Collins administered laser and light skin therapies for Crossroads Medical Associates, when such interventions were novel in Howard County. In 2001, when Collins’ one woman-show grew from a single treatment room to a larger suite, MST was at the forefront of the burgeoning medical spa industry in Howard County. Today, MST’s gorgeous, 2,400 square foot, state-of-the-art treatment and retail center in Ellicott City continues to provide innovative skin therapies with the same high standards set by Collins in 2001. MST’s physicians and nurses receive continuing education and training annually to provide the knowledge and service that makes MST a favorite among clients, such as Lee. “When people say I look good I say Medical Skin deserves the credit in slowing the aging process,” says Lee.One of the newest advances in skin care treatments is KYBELLA—a non-surgical treatment for a double chin.
KYBELLA physically destroys fat cells and once destroyed, those cells cannot accumulate fat again. KYBELLA is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment for this purpose whose active ingredient is a naturally occurring molecule that aids in the breakdown of dietary fat. FemiLift, another advanced service provided by MST physicians, is a minimally invasive laser treatment for vaginal rejuvenation and reduction of urinary incontinence. The procedure lasts under 30 minutes and requires no post-treatment downtime. In addition to KYBELLA and FemiLift, MST’s service highlights include BOTOX, acne treatment, dermal fillers and IPL light treatments, medical peels, laser hair removal, spray tanning, and face and body contouring.
