NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2015
STEVE ADLER, who has lived in Clarksville for more than 30 years, sold his company, Steve Adler Big & Tall in 1993, after building it to 23 stores in seven states. Since then, he has served on boards for the YMCA, the Howard County Economic Development Authority and the Horizon Foundation. He became a managing partner for Savage Mill in 1995, helping the project to realize its potential. He recently held a series of “Friendraiser” events around the state to raise $300,000 to purchase a 3-D mammogram machine for Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, in Prince George’s County, where he grew up. These days, he likes to golf, hang out at the beach in Bethany and give his friends shopping advice. “People are always calling and asking where they should buy something,” he says. “Because of my background, I know what things should cost and where the bargains are.” Here are some of his favorite things.
