Treat yourself to a mini “art walk” and check out the happenings at the Columbia Art Center. From November 7th-December 1st The Columbia Art Center will be featuring two unique artists, Deborah Berman and Eileen Williams.
Deborah Berman’s exhibit, “The Sum and Its Parts” will showcase her use of several media, including homemade paper. Berman’s colorful and playful collages capture her vision of nature with color and shapes. Berman has a long career in the arts; she has worked for the Corcoran Gallery and College of Art, the Guggenheim, Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery as well as the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Eileen Williams’ exhibit, “Celebration of Women Through Faces in Fabric” will showcase her fascinating three-dimensional pieces constructed from various fabrics and mixed media. Williams’ work illustrates her personal metaphor linking women and fabric.
