Music and the Maid of Orleans
Monteabaro Recital Hall at Horowitz Visual and Performaing Arts Center 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, MDFrom visions of saints in her garden to her victories in battle, and finally to her burning at the stake in Rouen, Joan of Arc has been the subject of poetry, plays, operas, and art song. Mezzo-soprano and faculty member Christine Thomas-O’Meally will explore the Maid’s journey in music by Rossini, Vercoe and Cohen.
