Leadership Howard County, which seeks to empower leaders to strengthen and transform the community, will hold a general membership luncheon and gift drive with speaker Tonya Kennon, president and CEO of the Howard County Library System and member of Leadership Howard County’s new Leadership Premier class graduating in 2019.
At the event, Kennon will present “Leveling Up and Bringing Barriers Down: Asset-based Community Development in Practice.” Kennon will share her vision for the Howard County Library System, including future initiatives and partnership opportunities. Rooted in asset-based community development, her vision leverages existing strengths while turning outward to connect, engage and educate for success at the next level and beyond.
Leadership Howard County requests attendees bring a donation of new hats, gloves, mittens or scarves for children from toddlers to teens to contribute to the Howard County Library System’s annual Holiday Mitten Tree drive. The library will donate items to community charities.
