Brazilian Guitarist Headlines Jazz Concert
Famed Brazilian guitarist Chico Pinheiro headlines the 14th annual Jazz at the Lake concert on Saturday, January 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Columbia, Md. A prodigy who began playing studio sessions at age 14, Pinheiro has released six acclaimed albums. “One of the brightest lights on the Brazilian jazz scene,” the Boston Globe raved about him.
Pinheiro will play with Wilde Lake alumni Alex Brown on piano and Zach Brown on bass, and Mark Walker on drums. The award-winning Wilde Lake High School Jazz Ensemble will open the show, and perform one piece with the guest artists.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. (Golden Opportunities passes are not valid for this special concert.) The concert takes place at the Jim Rouse Theatre, 5460 Trumpeter Road, Columbia, Md. For more information, contact [email protected] or 410-997-2070.
