Mind The Gap and Advance your Practice by Focusing your study. Join us for this free informational event and learn how you can benefit from participating in Root Studio’s inaugural Mini-MFA Program in Interdisciplinary Arts! Come meet Mini MFA Program Director, Julia Kwon (read on for more info on Julia) and get your questions answered about what you can expect from participating in this exciting new program. Program Summary:
The 6-weeks long, Mini MFA program in Interdisciplinary Arts engages artists from a variety of visual art practices–including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, photography, video, textile, performance, socially-engaged, and digital art–to study in a rigorous, interdisciplinary arts context through studio work, group critiques, studio visits, advisor meetings, and professional development workshops.

This program presents a condensed MFA experience, which is much like a low-residency MFA or post-baccalaureate program, for motivated individuals who would benefit greatly from a collaborative, artistic environment and intensive art curriculum. Participating students will be expected to work hard and to develop their own goals for realization by the end of the program. The program welcomes individuals who are uncertain as to whether a MFA program is for them, who are unsure whether they want to invest in a pricey MFA degree, who want to move their art career forward, or who simply feel stuck and need some structure and support to produce their best work possible.
