Columbia Pro Cantare will open its 2019-2020 season with the Requiem by W.A. Mozart, Saturday, October 26, 2019, 8 pm, in the Jim Rouse Theatre, Columbia. The full chorus, guest soloists and Festival Orchestra will be conducted by CPC Co-director, Laura Lee Fischer. The first half of the all-Mozart program will feature the overture to The Marriage of Figaro, and arias from The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute.
The chorus will be joined for this concert by young artists Miso Kang, soprano, Randa Melhem, mezzo, Kyle Tomlin, tenor, and Chris Edwards, baritone, and Sammy Marshall, positive organ.
A free talk on the music will precede the concert at 7 pm and there will be a post-concert reception. A special feature of this concert will be a silent auction to benefit CPC’s 2019-2020 season. Tickets are $23, $20 (students and senior citizens) in advance; $2 more at the door. Children 5-15 years old: $10.
