“CHIVALRY, SWORDS, CANDLES & MORE”: Medieval Art and Music for Kids

Join the kids of Howard County Homeschool Cooperative as they explore Medieval life through art and music!

Each child will:

• Make a Heraldic Flag
• Stitch a mythical medieval sampler
• Gild a “Illuminated manuscript”
• Decorate their own medieval linen tunic or dress
• Craft a wooden sword
• Finish a wooden shield
• Learn a medieval canticle
• and more! (candle making! cheesemaking!)

🛡️Each meeting focuses on an aspect of medieval life and a Knightly Character Quality.

🛡️Our last meeting is our “Parent’s Feast” where kids make medieval dishes and perform a canticle in the garb they made over the 8 week workshop.

🛡️We even have a field trip to Medieval Times where kids can proudly wear their handmade garb!

(1) A complete schedule and book list will be sent after you register online.

(2) Lessons will focus on Medieval England, but also lightly explore Medieval Korea, and Medieval Mali.

HOMESCHOOLERS: This 8 week workshop meets COMAR requirements for both art and music FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR!

You must register before the workshop in order to have your child’s sword, shield, candles, etc reserved.
