Bicentennial Celebration

On Saturday, September 17th, 2016 Historic Savage Mill will be celebrating the 200th “birthday” of the “Carding” Building. Built in 1816, the building readied cotton for spinning into the many products produced in this 175,000 sq. ft. cotton mill. Listed on the National register of Historic Places in 1974, the Mill has since been renovated and is now home to many shops, restaurants, studios, services, and additional historic elements. Savage Mill is now a major tourist and shopping destination in Howard County.

The day’s events will include a plaque dedication, costumed historian tours, live music, a Mill-wide sidewalk sale, live broadcast from Mix 106.5, prizes, and much more for the whole family!
