MARCH/APRIL 2016
Whether you’re an IPA aficionado or a guru of Grolsch, you’ll be thrilled to know what’s on tap at this spring’s Maryland Craft Beer Festival. “It’s a local beer enthusiast’s mecca,” says Rebecca Dulka, event manager for the Brewers Association of Maryland, which hosts the annual fete. “In 2015, there were breweries from Hagerstown to as far away as the Eastern Shore pouring their brews.”
Set along downtown Frederick’s gorgeous Carroll Creek Linear Park, the daylong celebration features plenty of music, food and art, but suds from across the region reign supreme. So go ahead and down a draft from Howard County fave Manor Hill Brewing Co., but save room for sips from the likes of Heavy Seas, Raven Beer and Union Craft Brewery, too. Who knows? You may discover a brand-new favorite.
The festival “is a great way to get a comprehensive look — and taste — of the Maryland beer industry,” says Dulka. “It’s great to see who’s doing what and what special brews they bring to dazzle the crowd.” Bottoms up!
This year’s Maryland Craft Beer Festival takes place May 28, 2016, at Carroll Creek Linear Park in Frederick. Visit mdcraftbeerfestival. com for more information. *
