Our cover models, Tracy and Taylor Spillman and Lisa and Brianna Chun, turned the tables on the conventional mother-daughter shopping spree. Instead of Mom picking out (or relenting to) clothes for these 
middle schoolers, Taylor and Brianna, with the help of stylists at Lord & Taylor, dressed up their mothers. They chose clothing they thought would both flatter and reflect their moms’ personalities.
Lisa (at left), a first grade teacher at Waterloo Elementary School, said the BCBGMaxAzaria dress was “perfect for a spring outing” – exactly the effect Brianna had hoped for. The colorful design, says Brianna, a sixth grade student at Clarksville Middle School, “showed personality.”
Tracy is a Gifted and Talented Resource teacher at Lime Kiln Middle School, where her daughter is in sixth grade. Taylor chose the Calvin Klein tunic and Michael Kors slacks because she rarely sees her mother in dresses. For Taylor, the task was easy. She says: “My mom always out-dresses everybody and is very stylish.”
