Explore different stories from four great American composers: Bernstein, Gershwin, Copland, and Gabriela Lena Frank. You’ll hear American folk melodies and Lincoln’s stirring rhetoric in Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, Bernstein’s riveting score to the classic film On the Waterfront, and some of Gershwin’s most famous melodies in An American in Paris. Plus, Gabriela Lena Frank’s tone poem featuring violist Julius Wirth, La Llorona, was inspired by the Latin American female spirit.
