Children’s Parade and Old-Fashioned Fourth Celebration at St. Michaels Museum at St. Mary’s Square
Date: July 4 (always!)
Great fun for all ages! Children’s parade is from 10-11 a.m. leaving St. Mary’s Square to Talbot Street, then back via Willow, Church and Mulberry Sts. to the Square. Children are encouraged to arrive before 10 a.m. and to wear patriotic attire, decorate bikes and wagons, even pets, and join the parade! From 11-11:45 a.m., there will be flag-raising, patriotic songs, benedictions, and speaker Pete Lesher of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, to celebrate the 4th at the new front porch of the Teetotal building. On the lawn of the museum, there will be children’s activities including games, face painting, a magician, and more! The SMFD will provide food and Scottish Highland Creamery will have ice cream. The St. Michaels Museum will be open and free to the public. Join Uncle Sam for the fun and spectacle of this traditional celebration.
