Columbia Pro Cantare will open its 42nd season, Saturday, October 20, 2018, 8 pm at the Jim Rouse Theatre in Columbia. The concert, “Go for Baroque,” will feature works by Baroque masters G.F. Handel, J.S. Bach, Domenico Cimarosa and others. Joining the full chorus and CPC Chamber Singers will be soprano soloist Sarah Hayashi, a graduate of Peabody Institute who was a finalist in the recent international Handel Aria Competition, the Howard County Concert Chamber Orchestra, and Sammy Marshall, organist. There will be a pre-concert lecture at 7 pm and a post-concert reception. A silent auction will benefit the chorus’ 2018-2019 season.
