Sadaf Mukhtar exhibits a group of paintings that highlight the beautiful and intricate artistic style of the Mughal Taj Dynasty, which ruled most of the Indian subcontinent from the late 7th to early 18th centuries. This area included what is today Mukhtar’s native Pakistan.
Sadaf has been influenced by the rich cultural and artistic life the Mughals brought to India and the rich jewel colors and interesting patterns in her work represent Mukhtar’s interpretation of this interesting and exotic artistic period. She works mostly in charcoal, pastel and ink.
