What would it be like to dedicate an entire day to being creative and playful?
You can have such a day at the Wholistic Woman BE CREATIVE Retreat!
Human beings are made to be creative…but we are not all alike in our creativity. We use it in different ways and to different degrees. Practicing creativity has many benefits. According to researchers Ebersole & Hess, (1998) creative expression:
– Creates balance and order
– Gives a sense of control over the external world
– Makes something positive out of a loss, bad experience or depression
– Maintains your sense of integrity
– Helps resolve conflicts
– Makes thoughts and feelings clear
– Contributes to a greater sense of well-being and personal growth
In addition, creativity can help you build better relationships. Imagining how things look through another person’s eyes can enhance your empathy and understanding. And deciding to try a different way of responding than usual when someone irritates or annoys is a creative way to avoid difficulties.
At this full day retreat you will have the opportunity to learn and experience a variety of creative outlets, such as:
Intuitive Painting
In this breakout session you will enjoy the freedom to express your own individuality in visual language. Intuitive painting is a discipline of helping and healing that uses paint for discovery and change. It helps to open your senses and access your imagination, so you can find what goes on deep inside your unconscious mind. Your own images will tell the story of what’s no longer working for you and even bring your own resources to the surface. Together we can read your images and find out what needs to be addressed so you can move forward. Play and grow a life you love living. No painting experience is required; just bringan open mind and let your brush do the work.

Self-Compassion Power Pages
With self-compassion we give ourselves the same kindness and care we’d give to a good friend. ~ Kristin Neff
Learning how to accept ourselves exactly as we are while at the same time motivating ourselves to reach our highest potential is one of the fundamental principles we practice at Wholistic Woman Retreats. The truth for so many of us is that we talk to ourselves in ways we would never talk to a good friend. We set our personal standards too high, we are quick to judge ourselves, and our self-talk can be very mean and ugly.
In the Self-Compassion Power Page break out session, Coach Laura will guide you through an interactive activity to create more loving kindness towards yourself. You will walk away with an artistic expression that will help remind you to practice self-compassion on a regular basis.
