There’s a new tech initiative in town and it’s worth noting, especially if you’re an entrepreneur. The Howard County Economic Development Authority’s (HCEDA), Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE) recently launched “3D Maryland.” The initiative is focused on 3D printing, no cellophane glasses required! According to County Executive Ken Ulman, 3D Printing could begin the “new age of manufacturing.” The collaboration already owns three printers, according to Jan Baum, Director of the program. She says the goal is to “grow the digital age industry knowledge base in Maryland and in America,” by making the technology accessible to people. Her hope is that 3D printing will help to inspire innovation for a positive economic impact. Baum, who has already learned quite a bit about the technology, believes 3D printing will help entrepreneurs and businesses. For more information please visit http://www.3DMD.org |
