Collins-Witzke,Sherri The original Harry Witzke Funeral Home was established in southwest Baltimore, in 1912, by Harry H. Witzke, Sr. I grew up in the funeral business with my step-father, Harry H. Witzke, Jr. In 1993, I entered the mortuary science program at CCBC and received my degree in 1995, and then my license as a mortician in the State of Maryland. We are very proud to be Family Owned and will continue to be so, as my daughter, Samantha Flanagan, will finish her degree and be licensed in the Fall of 2016. We offer more personalized service and attention to the families we serve, with more reasonable prices. I frequently speak to groups in the community to offer information on funeral planning and options available. We are not affiliated with any other Witzke Funeral Home, two are owned by SCI Corporation and one by a distant family member. Please contact us for an appointment— free of charge. We are here to advise you with any of your funeral planning questions.

Struss,Lori Lori’s love of dance began at age 5 when her mom took her to see Diane Bissell’s dance recital. She was enrolled in dance classes with Diane that fall. At age 13, Miss Diane, her mentor, asked her to be a teaching assistant and taught Lori how to love each person uniquely as she helped them along their path in dance. Dancing came naturally, but teaching was something she learned to do well. At age 17, Diane trusted Lori with her own classes. Lori became passionate about musical theatre in high school and learned to blend her love of dance with singing and acting. At that time, Mo Dutterer invited her to choreograph and she went on to choreograph for him in high school and professionally. The love of fitness began at age 20 when she worked with Sinai Fitness and Normandy Health and Fitness. At Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago 2007, she learned of a new form of fitness called Zumba and in July 2009, Lori was licensed by the Zumba creator, Beto Perez. A highlight for her was when he invited her onstage to perform with him! This year Lori celebrates 20 years of business, formerly Dance Foundations and now as Genesis Arts, and 32 years of teaching. Her passion is helping people achieve their goals: a new level of fitness, weight loss, strength, a new skill, confidence, a feeling of belonging, and a place to grow. Lori considers her greatest successes are those of her students. Seeing a 49 year old beginning male student who loses 80 pounds in a year taking . fitness classes. In six years time, he becomes an award winning competitive tap dancer at the age of 55. A two year old who hides behind her mom and cries becomes the most con. dent dancer. She not only leads her fellow dancers, but succeeds in her own solo work by age 8. The students who go on to perform onstage professionally and the ones who bring their own children to class because they remember how much they loved it. Genesis Arts offers training in dance, musical theatre and including Yoga, Pilates, Cardio Aerobic Dance, Strength Training, Plyometrics, Weights and Flexibility. Please feel welcomed to try a class or arrange a meeting with Lori to discuss your fitness, dance, or theater goals.
