Howard Community College Presents Family-Friendly “Biggity Bad and the Three Little Pigs”

September 11, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 2:50 pm

Free

Columbia, MD – Howard Community College (HCC) Theatre Program kicks off its first children’s touring show with “Biggity Bad and the Three Little Pigs”. The family-friendly show opens at HCC’s Smith Theatre with free performances September 10 and 11. Suitable for audiences young and old alike, “Biggity Bad and the Three Little Pigs” will tour local elementary schools, after the shows on the Smith Theatre stage.

Higgelty, Piggelty, and Hamlet are three little lazy and mischievous pigs on Farmer Maggie’s farm. Bad intentioned Buzz the buzzard would like to see the pigs come to a tasty demise, so he convinces the lone wolf, Rolfie, to become Biggity Bad Wolf and go after the three pigs. Good-natured Rolfie is resistant to the idea, but Buzz convinces Rolfie that this will be the best way for him to gain acceptance in his wolf pack. When threatened by Biggity Bad, the pigs are left to their own devices by Farmer Maggie, who believes the pigs are making excuses about the wolf so they can get out of doing work on the farm. With houses of straw, sticks and stone, the pigs learn how to become productive members of the farm, and Rolfie learns that he doesn’t need to be bad, in order to find a family.

“This play is fun for families and anyone who is young at heart,” says Grace Anastasiadis, the show’s director. “We have current students and alumni working together in this cast, learning from each other to bring this hilarious play to children in Howard County. This play engages children in fun and silliness, while also teaching about teamwork and friendship.”

Performances at HCC are Saturday, September 10 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 11 at 2 p.m. The play is 50 minutes, with no intermission. All performances take place at the Smith Theatre, which is located in the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center at HCC, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, Maryland.

Admission is free for everyone. For tickets, visit howardcc.edu/box office or call 443-518-1500. The box office will also be open 90 minutes prior to each show time and Tuesday–Friday, 12–6 p.m.
