A NEW SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS YOUNG BOYS

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2016

The Community Foundation of Howard County’s new Carlessia Hussein Scholarship aids an oft-overlooked group of kids: middle school boys. Hussein, former director of the Maryland Minority Health and Health Disparities, has dedicated her life to supporting disenfranchised populations, says Beverly White-Seals, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. She created the scholarship so that disadvantaged boys can attend character development and other enrichment programs. With her new scholarship, Hussein is doing just that.
