PETIT LOUIS COMES TO COLUMBIA

By Holly Smith

Waterside dining in the area has gone Gallic. Thanks to the recent opening of Petit Louis Bistro, visitors to the Columbia Lakefront can now tuck into fabulous French fare in a setting to match. “It’s an absolutely beautiful site,” says
petit_louisrestaurateur Tony Foreman, whose other establishments include Baltimore’s renowned Pazo, Charleston and the original Petit Louis.

Designed like a Parisian bistro, Columbia’s Petit Louis wows guests with favorites from confit to cassoulet. Unlike its Roland Park namesake, however, this Petit Louis offers something extra: a “comptoir.” A casual walk-up space, the “comptoir” opens early on weekdays to fortify hungry worker bees with house-made croissants, tarts and other European goodies that really deserve their own food group. And the icing on the “macaron”? Masterfully brewed coffees.

“Petit Louis brings a joie de vivre to all of its guests,” says Foreman of his latest culinary hit. “It should make for a lively slice of Paris for Howard County.” 10214 Wincopin Circle, 410-964-9999. Petitlouis.com
